Reposturing Dynamics Session:
Reposturing is a bodywork technique using unique stretches, the breath and some massage techniques to regain the natural balance of your body. Rebecca likes to call it rePosturIng Therapy. It’s a balance of flexibility and strengthening necessary muscles. Rebecca evaluates your posture to determine what area’s to work on first and most of the work is performed on a massage table. Depending on the goals and interests of the client, additional stretches and exercises are recommended to expedite the progress.

Reposturing is deep, structural bodywork releasing habitual constriction and contraction of muscles. Unfortunately much in our modern world encourages unnatural ways of sitting, standing and walking just to name a few. Many habits that are formed are counter-productive to our health. Through the stretch work of Reposturing the muscles are encouraged to release. Depending on how tight the muscles are, the intensity may lead to soreness much like a workout. Since it is a very deep stretch it is similar to a deep massage. The aftermath of Reposturing however allows the client to get better with time unlike massage where you may feel immediate relaxation during one session. Reposturing aims to help the problem, not just to deal with the symptoms! Reposturing and Chiropractic services are a good marriage. Chiropractic work is principally concerned with aligning the spine, while Reposturing focuses on the musculature and fascia that enables the body to move, bend, stretch with freedom and ease. The ultimate result is freedom of movement, release from pain, a greater sense of ease and an overall feeling of well-being.

Reposturing is a process which takes several sessions each consisting of 1 hour. The course of action is based on each individual, so the quantity of sessions differ from person to person, though four to eight sessions are typical. The course of action will be discussed in the Initial Consultation, which tends to be 1 ½ hours long. All other sessions generally are ¾ to 1 hour. Current status and goals are assessed, a course of action is discussed and a Reposturing Dynamics Bodywork Session is included in the Initial Consultation. Due to the nature of the bodywork, much of Reposturing takes place on a massage table where the client wears comfortable clothes, such as shorts and a tank or tee.

Reposturing brings natural balance back to the body. It lets people know, often for the first time, what a healthy body feels like. Reposturing brings back VITALITY to your life!
